Martorana Family Winery Chardonnay Grape Harvest September 29, 2009
This year's harvest yield is 3 tons. Under the watchful eyes of Sunny the winery dog, the grapes were weighed, shaded and then crushed into pure nectar. Later they will be put in oak barrels and a couple of years from now these grapes will be ready to savor.
The weather was great and so was the friendly confine of the Martorana Family Winery.
Lots of folks said they were glad this was the last stop on the Passport tour because it was easy to say it was their favorite one.
The wines were of course great in my very biased opinion (are you not biased either?).
Along with the red stuff, dual outdoor pizza ovens kept hungry wine lovers satisfied. The family olive oil, Olio diGio dripped on top of a slice was a foodie trip to heaven. The meatballs were darn good too.
